I am happy to announce that Tales of the Haunted Blue II: The Ballad of Mari Wolf has officially been released. Though the first draft was completed a looong while back, I got hung up on some other projects. I was able to tighten the story, add some heart, and, most importantly, add a ship's cat to the crew of the Narthwitch, Bosen Tummins.
This book continues the piratical career of Captain Mari Wolf. There's more swashbuckling, schemeing, magic and treasure. This novel covers the apex of her piratical career. Yes, I do have one more book in the works, but the events in this one change things so much that it'll be a bit of a different beast. This book, then, will be the most 'piraty' of the trilogy.
The first season of Andor was playing while I was writing the first draft of this book, so, of course, it's colored by politics, the theme being Monarch vs Anarchy vs Republic. Near the end, it'll get into a massive rebellion in the Ten Seas, and how the Narthwitch navigates it. There'll be some heavy scenes because, well, you know, war. There will also be moments of tenderness and celebration because you can't enjoy the dark or the light and visa versa.
The Ballad of Mari Wolf fills out the Blue nicely. You get to meet the Shroud King. You get to find out what the deal is behind Mari's black coat. A little more info about the Sky and Deep Dwellers is sprinkled in. The ghosts of Narthwich make a reappearance. The climax of the book will unleash a spell so powerful, it'll change the world.
So if any of this sounds like your cup of tea, I invite you to check out Tales of the Hanted Blue II: The Ballad of Mari Wolf. You can find it on Amazon and itch.
